Accountability
Corrections policy
We correct errors quickly, visibly and on the record.
How to request a correction
Email corrections@thechainbeacon.com with the story headline, the URL, the specific passage you believe is wrong, and any supporting documentation. An editor responds to every request, usually within one business day.
What happens next
- Correction. A factual error is fixed in the story and a correction note is appended explaining what was wrong and when it was fixed.
- Clarification. Accurate but potentially confusing wording is revised, with a note describing the change.
- Update. New developments are added and the story's updated timestamp changes.
What we do not do
We do not delete published stories to resolve a complaint, and we do not remove a person's name from accurate reporting on request. In rare cases involving a credible safety risk or a legally mandated sealing, the senior editor may approve an unpublish decision and we note it here.
Recent corrections
Corrections appear directly on the affected story, in a labeled box beneath the article text, so readers see the correction in the same place they encountered the error.
