About us

Who we are

The Chain Beacon is an independent daily news publication covering cryptocurrency, blockchain networks and digital money.

We report on digital-asset policy and regulation, market structure, the bitcoin network and mining industry, decentralized finance, stablecoins and payments, and the security failures and financial crime that follow the money onchain. Our newsroom is based in Miami, with reporters filing from Washington, New York, London and Singapore.

Ownership and funding

The Chain Beacon is published by Beacon Media Cooperative, LLC, a privately held company registered in the United States. No exchange, token issuer, venture fund, political party or advocacy organization holds an ownership stake in the publication.

The newsroom is funded by reader subscriptions, display advertising and philanthropic grants. Funders have no role in story selection, reporting or editing. Any story produced with grant support carries a disclosure at the end of the article.

How we work

  • Every article carries a named author, a publication date and a last-updated date.
  • Sources are identified whenever possible; anonymity requires an editor's approval.
  • We do not publish sponsored content in the news report without clear labeling.
  • Reporters disclose digital-asset holdings to editors and may not cover a token, company or protocol they hold a position in. Nothing we publish is investment advice.
  • Errors are corrected promptly and transparently under our corrections policy.
